WHAT WE DO

U.S. Wado Kai promotes traditional Wado Kai Karate technical values, etiquette with respect. The organization supports regional groups in North California in the San Francisco Bay Area and San Diego in Southern California providing access to courses and competitions at local, regional, national and international levels. 
The aim of karatedo is not perfection of physical techniques, but development of a mental attitude in the proponents of the art to develop a mind that is tranquil yet flowing, not rigid, but receptive to anything that confronts it - a mind able to react intuitively, fearlessly, with no hesitation, to whatever the situation may be.

Karate

Class time begins with routine stretching of muscles and loosening of joints, then proceeds to the three K’s: kihon, or practice of basic techniques; kata, or performance of mandatory forms; and kumite, which is a controlled form of free sparring. Classes are ongoing, and new students may enroll at any time.

Our instructor is Yoshiaki Ajari, the senior Wadokai Sensei in the United States. Wadokai is one of the four traditional styles of Japanese karate. Ajari Sensei is a member of the board of directors, technical committee, dan (black belts) certification, and kata referee council of the USA National Karatedo Federation (USOC member).
Adult Classes (ages 13 and over) : Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 6:30 – 8:00 PM, Spirit Studio.
